Filipino Veterans Equity Act of 2007
In 1941, President Roosevelt called 200,000 Filipinos into the service of the U.S. Armed Forces, yet in 1946, legislation provided that Filipino WWII veterans do not qualify for U.S. veteran benefits. The purpose of the Equity Act is to reverse this long-standing injustice. On Feb. 15, the House Veteran Affairs Committee will hold a hearing on this act.
